Setup #

Create your first app #

To establish a connection to the GetGenius API, you need to set up an app within the GetGenius platform. This app will contain the API key, which is essential for accessing the API. Follow the steps below to set up your app and establish a connection:

1. Create an App: Log in to your GetGenius account. Navigate to the ‘Apps’ section and click on ‘Create New App’. Fill in the necessary details such as the app’s name, description, and other required information.
2. Generate API Key: Once the app is created, an API key will be automatically generated for this app. This key is unique to the app and is used to authenticate your requests to the GetGenius API.
3. Test the API Key: To test to the GetGenius API, include this API key in your API requests. The key should be included in the ‘Authorization’ field.

Submit your app for review #

Once you have set up your application and integrated the GetGenius API, the next step is to submit your app for review. This is a crucial process to ensure that your application meets our standards and guidelines for security, functionality, and user experience.

To submit your app for review, follow these steps:

1. Log into your GetGenius account and navigate to the ‘My Apps’ section.
2. Select the application you wish to submit for review.
3. Click on the ‘Submit for Review’ button.
4. Fill out the form with the necessary details about your app, including its purpose, main features, and any other relevant information.
5. Click ‘Submit’ to send your application for review.

Our review team will evaluate your application and provide feedback or approval within a few business days. Please ensure that your application complies with our guidelines to avoid any delays in the review process.

If your application is approved, you will receive an email confirmation, and your API key will be activated for use. If your application is not approved, you will receive feedback on what needs to be improved before resubmission.
