Link your Instagram account to GetGenius to post content, engage with your followers, generate reports, and more.
Before you start #
Instagram provides three profile types: Personal, Business, and Creator. To fully utilize the Instagram features available in GetGenius, including engagement, direct publishing, and analytics, you need to add a Business profile.
Connecting Instagram to GetGenius does not require an Instagram Business account. However, if you want to use all of GetGenius’s analytics and engagement features, ensure you have the following:
- An Instagram Business profile linked to a Facebook Page.
- If you still have a Personal profile, see Convert an Instagram Personal profile to a Business profile.
- If you already have a Business profile, see Connect an Instagram account to a Facebook Page.
- The appropriate permissions ( See the Facebook help article See your Facebook Page role or access):
- Facebook Page classic – You’ll need an Admin or Editor Page role.
- New Facebook Pages experience – You’ll need full or partial control.
- Asset in Facebook Business Manager – You’ll need management access to the Page in the Business Manager account. See the Facebook help article Add People to Your Business Manager.
Tip: If you’ve already added a Personal profile to your GetGenius account, you can convert it to a Business profile and then add it to your account again with the following steps. GetGenius automatically updates the connected profile for you when you complete the process.
Add an Instagram Business account #
- In a separate browser tab or window, log out of Instagram and Facebook.
- In GetGenius, go to Settings, Integrations and then select Social Media.
- Select Instagram.
- Select Log in to Facebook.
- Enter your Facebook account credentials, and then select Log in.
- Select Add next to the Instagram Business profiles you want to add to GetGenius, and then select Done.
